Stonewall was the loudest shout, but New York City has always been home to those who do not want to be defined by the typical culture.

While the three cities listed above were the most obvious battlegrounds for PRIDE recognition, many other areas were also beginning to attract LQBTQIA people who looked for their places to call home.
